The Columbus Book consists of a flexible leather wrap-around cover to which six number of sections of artists's papers are sewn. The hinge uses a ladder of open slots to facilitate the binding.
The book shown features specialist artists' acid free handmade paper made in Devonshire at the Two Rivers Mill. It contains samples of each of the lightly tinted papers that they make. The style of binding permits for any type of paper to be added later ~ or removed ~ as required.
Books in this style are easy to make by anyone with basic handicraft skills ~ no bookbinding expertise is required. The type of paper ~ the size ~ the extent ~ can all be varied. This brief description is expanded here [description].
This Columbus Book is described with precision so that an exact repeat can be made [description].
