This is a brief description of a book made in the Pasteur Style.
The features of a Pasteur Style of book are ~ the open back ~ the lack of adhesive used in manufacture ~ the separation of the sections ~ the ability to add or remove sections.
The sections are each sewn separately in the single-section manner [114352]. The several sections are securely held in place place with a separate continuous thread woven between the covers.
The Pasteur Book ~ to be illustrated soon ~ is in the A5 vertical ~ upright ~ format with four sections each of four folios of 8 leaves in each ~ or 32 sides of writing paper in the whole book. The paper is a heavyweight cartridge paper made in the UK ~ made with a very high proportion of recycled coffee cups.
The Pasteur book Style allows for any variety of covers ~ or even none at all. The Pasteur Book shown in the illustrations features a print from an original natural history artwork by Shari Hills [sharihills].
A further variety of ~ sizes ~ extent ~ and materials is possible. The sewing technique allows for a multitudinous arrrangement of suitable construction possibilities ~ all within the capabilities of the beginner to bookcrafts.
