An A5 album for photos or small scraps

Designed for keeping suitable momentoes in order

This page is written with the intent of providing the details required for an exact description of a particular item for on-line sales. A full specification is being prepared ~ as are copious notes on making such a book ~ at home ~ from readily available materials. For our own reference we have named this type of album a 'Ninnis Book'.

This album has the hinge on the shorter side of the sheet ~ horizontal or landscape style. The finished size is about 20x14.5cm ~ 8x6" ~ slightly smaller than A5.

The inside material is a thin card ~ or thick paper ~ of weight 160gsm. This is sufficiently strong to support photographs or paper-based momentoes. The card is coloured pale blue ~ many people prefer the softer effect of the tint on the eye. There are 32 leaves ~ 64 sides.

The book has matching end papers with cloth-covered limp ~ flexible ~ card covers. The covers are decorated printed cotton fabric.

The Ninnis Book is also designed to be easy to make, using readily available ~ simple ~ materials. It lacks ornamentation or decoration. Craftspeople have ample opportunity to adapt ~ improve ~ any of descriptors I have provided.
