A glimpse of some Grafiche Tassotti printed papers
Tassotti is a long established firm based in Bassano del Grappa, in North East Italy. Their origins go back several centuries. The publishing house of Remondini, in Bassano, founded in 1657, eventually employed 1000 workers. The products then ranged through books to wallpapers. After 200 years the company went into decline, and much of their stock was transferred to Varese. The modern Tassotti Business still produces some items with these historical names, and even some of their original designs.
Our interest here is for their Decorative Wrapping Papers section. I do not know the number of designs currently available. The main decorative paper output is litho printed at B1 size ~ 1000x707 ~ long grain ~ on light ivory ~ 85gsm sheets. Most on-line stockists sell it by approximate B2 sheets (700x500). There can be confusion over 'price per sheet' if the sheet size is unspecified. For example one shop might sell sheets at twice the price of another ~ because they are twice the size. Postal purchasers should also bear in mind that large flat ~ or rolled ~ sheets are expensive to order. Unfortunately High Street stockists ~ where you can inspect ~ see the size ~ judge the quality ~ and cash and carry ~ are few and far between.
